Design Genius

Behind the design of Apple's most famous products like iMac, Powerbook, iBook and iPod, lies the design genius of Jonathan Ive. He is amongst the key figures involved in Apple's surrection. Ive's first design for Apple was the iMac personal computer in the 90s. He was the founder of a design studio called Tangerine in UK, until his client Apple offered him a job in Cupertino, California. His biggest achivement is to have combine sleek looks as well as form and functionality in the product.

King Kong.. Too Long

The original movie shot in 1933 was 100 mins long, this new instalment is 187 mins long. The movie is absolutely brilliant and completely entertaining. Peter Jackson recreates the mysterious Skull Island with reamarkable pictures and visual effects. The scenes of savage tribals and the dinosaur chase sequences were an absolute thrill.

The essence of the story remains the same - Group travels to shoot movie in an undiscovered island, giant ape Kong makes apearance and abducts blonde actress, beauty captivates the beast, the hero rescues the blonde, giant ape is captured and taken to city, giant ape unveiled to humans as 'King Kong - Eighth Wonder of the World', beast escapes shackles, shares romantic moments with beauty and creates havoc in city, and finally succumbs to humans falling down from a skyscraper.

Absence

This space has not been updated for sometime. I've been away from this blogosphere and into the trauma of corporate world. Working six days a week results in corroded weekends. I can attribute this situation to messy software development methodology in which version control was not given the priority. For some reason, all problems land in at the same point of time when least expected. It also puts a dent into all personal ambitions. Somehow, each second of free time seems precious now.

Lousy talk

This is a list of lame conversation topics, an indicator of abosolute depths:

1. Weather: "Oh, its so damn hot.. Oh, why does it always rain out here.. Its freezing in here, its the air-con goddammit". There is seldom any regard for good weather, the rest of the time its always complaint.
2. Traffic: "The traffic was horrible.. We were stuck in a jam.. The whole place was gridlocked". No matter where you are, people are always gonna complain about traffic.
3. Nguyen Tuong Van: The Australian citizen sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Singapore. He's been the in the heat of debate, controversy, and the dinner table talk all across the world. For the kind of death he's had, there's not going to be any rest for his soul.

This one is totally out of the topic, but Sylvester Stallone is shooting for Rocky VI and Rambo IV now. And Stallone is going to be playing the boxer Rocky Balboa once again, at the age of 59!! Except for the first Rocky movie which was a sensation, the last four were absolute crap anyway. John Rambo is the character famous for having displayed the least amount of emotion and expression ever in a movie (Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is his only rival). He's in a desparate attempt to revive his career with his original movies which made him a hero.
